Area Office School Leadership Redesign Mission

The area office school leadership model replaces the current region management structure by installing 24 new area offices in place of the six existing regional offices. The mission of the new area offices is as follows:

  • Deploy instructional officers whose sole mission is to improve instruction in the schools

  • Increase interaction between schools and area offices by reducing the school to area office ratio

  • Provide a better level of day-to-day operations service to the entire CPS community, including principals, teachers and parents

By incorporating two key support functions—instruction and operations—under one area structure, CPS will ensure that all needs of the school community are met in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible.  You will be able to reach areas by using current region phone numbers.
