Mission Statement:
To provide for the education of children by assisting and nurturing the family and community support structures needed for the enhancement and advancement of children through a multi-faceted approach which includes: to oversee and facilitate the operation of site-based management in each school; to expand all facets of communications with parents and the greater community; to develop strong relationships with community-based organizations, agencies and city departments; to develop learning communities; to advance school safety; and to provide systematic and comprehensive parent training, resources and support on a citywide basis to all parents of CPS students.

Goals For The 2006-2007 School Year
- Provide assistance and support in every part of the day-to-day operations of all Local School Councils´ activities.
- Assess critique and report on every facet of the LSC elections.
- Continue to provide training to all Local School Council members.
- Develop and implement greatly expanded communication efforts with all segments of the local school community.
- Respond to all written and verbal inquiries in a timely manner.
- Expand the scope of professional development of our teachers.

Accomplishments
- Trained over 66000 Local School Council members
- Conducted 2 days of Local School Council Elections in over 600 schools which included the following: (1) Trained 2,500 judges, 400 monitors, 600 school coordinators and 6 regional facilitators; (2) Created a judges manual, an election guide, flyers, brochures and posters; (3) Conducted six “How To Campaign” workshops; (4) Investigated 100 pre and post election challenges; (5) Produced PSAs and participated in television programs; (6) Produced election materials in six languages; (7) Recruited 7,561 candidates; (8) Managed electoral process for schools and candidates that resulted in 133,000 voters.
- Responded to 2,000 in-office visits.
- Worked in cooperation with over 40 non-profit organizations.
- Worked with over 20 schools in investigating of facilitating child safety issues.
- Attended over 75 C.A.P.S. beat meetings throughout the city.
