Futures Exchange Partnerships Futures Exchange grew out of the adopt-a-school program launched Mayor Richard M. Daley, with the goal of Chicago Public Schools developing a productive relationship with a business and its employees. The Futures Exchange program assists in identifying partners and forging effective partnerships between businesses and schools to improve the quality of education for students in the Chicago Public Schools. Through the program, the Partnerships Group facilitates the donations of time, talent, and material resources given by corporations, organizations, or individuals. Futures Exchange has grown to include approximately 450 Chicago area businesses that contribute over $15 million in funds and in-kind services a year to almost a third of the Chicago Public Schools.
Partners commit to the following:
Many organizations choose to go beyond the minimum number of activities during the year.
Partnership Benefits Our partners enjoy the positive connections to students and communities they develop as a result of their efforts. Many organizations also mention an increase in team spirit, loyalty, and morale as individuals come together to help Chicago Public School children. Our city’s health is closely connected to productive citizens and a quality workforce. Futures Exchange partners can be proud of their contributions to our children and our city’s future.
Join us! When you sign on with to Futures Exchange, you join a national movement in which businesses invest in tomorrow through today’s public schools. Our program is flexible. We neither dictate the elements of your program nor require extensive paperwork. We support your partnership as it grows with a network of resources on school partnerships. Corporate Partners A successful corporate/school partnership revolves around a mutually beneficial relationship. The Partnership Group is a catalyst in making vital corporate/school connections and will help you determine a partnership school that best matches your interests and a schools needs.
Sample elementary school partnership Each school assesses its needs and defines its own mission. When the Chicago Public Schools is approached by a corporation, the Partnerships Group matches the organizations resources to the needs of the school. We arrange and facilitate an exploratory first meeting. If the corporation and the school decide to proceed, we can facilitate the development and implementation of a partnership plan. The same partnership plan does not fit all schools or businesses. We can give you ideas other partners have used or we can start with the ideas for a partnership that you have in mind.
