When your child enters school, every member of the family becomes part of the school community. Parents need to make conscious choices about how to relate to this new culture.

Education is about everyone taking a role in the process, parents, schools and community. All these stakeholders collaborate to create an effective experience for all children.

Make it a top priority to become involved in your child's educational experience by becoming involved in the schools. Teachers and parents forge a powerful partnership and together can nurture and care for their children.

Important factors that will help your child achieve a successful school experience include clear expectations, taking advantage of resources, taking an active role in your child's education and actively continuing to educating yourself.

Model the behavior that will instill a lifelong love for learning in your child; become a vital member of the learning community and your child will have a memorable, enriching experience that will continue throughout his or her years in school.
