Does your child show a special interest in the arts, computers, or another subject? If so, you should consider applying to some of Chicago's magnet schools and programs. These programs are designed to spark children's interest in specialized curricula. CPS offers more than 300 magnet schools and programs.

The Board of Education designed magnet schools and programs to attract students from all over the city. It is just one component of the Board's desegregation plan, which ensures equity and equal access to magnet schools for all children while maintaining racially balanced schools. All students living in Chicago can apply to any magnet school or program.
